Congratulations Universe

One of my favorite moments from The Office is when, after dealing with Andy for a while after Dwight is forced to leave, Jim says "I miss Dwight. Congratulations, Universe. You win."

I've felt that way a few times. Like, after being in a ward where I complained a lot about the Relief Society teachers (this was way back in college, when I lived at the Colony!) in the next 4 wards I was in, guess what my calling was. Yup, RS teacher. Lesson learned :) Universe, you win.

So, if you knew me way back when, you probably know that cheerleaders were not my favorite people. Let me be clear: I now have friends and family who were cheerleaders, and they are very nice people, I have nothing against them! But you have to understand, in high school, I was a nerd. Painfully shy, painfully uncute, and painfully never noticed by guys. So not liking the cheerleaders was just a matter of self-defense. I probably said at some point "I would like, totally DIE if my daughter wanted to be a cheerleader." (And cheerleaders were probably saying "I would, like, totally DIE if my daughter were a nerd." )

Fast forward 15 years, and Grace is born. I wasn't there when she made her entrance to the world, but I'm pretty sure she came out of the womb with pom-poms in her hands. Here is some evidence:

Grace at 10 months, watching some boys play football in the street.

Grace at 2 yrs. just entertaining herself. Warning, you might get exhausted just watching.

Congratulations Universe, you win!

That is hilarious. I was laughing so hard! First, the 10 mo. old video...can her arms be flapping any faster? Then WOW her cute ABC songs. So impressive. Your right, she's got a future in cheerleading, the energy level is through the roof.

The universe has laughed in my face a few times too. And I, too, have cheerleaders in the family now. Let's face it, they're cute, and they're fun to have around. We former nerds were just jealous. See you Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
