Pretty please

Okay, I'm begging for mercy here. Bert needs to come today or tomorrow, or Rob will be into his vacation days, and he'll probably just lose his paternity days. And days off are awfully hard to get around here, so we would like to maximize them. So if it crosses your mind, could you please say a little prayer that Bert will be born? Many thanks in advance :) For my part, I plan to go to the park and walk around and around until labor starts or I collapse. Then if that doesn't work, I'll go buy a knitting needle and break my own water!

Julie,

Sometimes the best way to end a pregnancy is to go back to how it began. :) If you choose this method, I hope you don't have a waterbed.

I was just checking to see if the wee one had been born yet. Hopefully, your in the hospital already have given birth :) It is so hard (mentally and physically) when those babies decide to take their time. Good wishes to you and looking forward to the first pictures post!

Does your doctor not believe in induction?

Yah, my dr wouldn't induce until after a week post-due date since it was my first. So hey, if you don't start on your own this weekend, the doc should be open to scheduling an induction. I'll keep you in my prayers that you get started on your own though. (What is it about babies liking to be all scrunched up in there for so long?!) You can use this as an excuse to go get a full body massage...and tell the therapist to hit all the pressure points that help induce labor. If anything, you get a nice massage :)

My suggestion:

Live at 7,000 feet then they'll never let you go more than a couple days over.

But I suppose it's too late for that now...

Perhaps if you'd only come and be my neighbor again...

We'll be thinking you!

I use gwenevere's method. Works every time. Gross thought. Sorry.

I have had friends use sitting on the dryer and setting off fireworks work for them.

I hate to get technical here, but what you want is a crochet hook, not a knitting needle. Good luck to you! Dirk and I tried everything to get Isaac out (eleven days overdue) and I think what finally worked was a mix of prenatal massage and chinese herbs. Or, maybe it was the fact that he was eleven days overdue that tipped the scale. Who knows? Good luck!

We're praying our guts out for you! We didn't see you today so either you're in hiding 'cause you've maxed out on "What? You're still pregnant?" or you got lucky! Hopefully it's the latter--and I don't mean Gwen's lucky!
